Based on the latest weather predictions, the winter storm is expected to move into our area Friday evening; therefore, PCSSD will operate on a regular schedule for Friday, January 23. All district after-school activities will not be held. A decision regarding school operations for Monday, January 26, will be made over the weekend. We want to take a moment to remind everyone of the importance of slowing down and driving carefully in our school zone. The safety of our students, staff, and families is our highest priority, and we have noticed an increase in speeding and reckless driving during arrival and dismissal times.

Please be aware that our school traffic officer may begin issuing citations for speeding or reckless driving if unsafe behaviors continue. This is not our preference, but it may be necessary to ensure the safety of everyone on campus.

We appreciate your cooperation in slowing down, following traffic laws, and modeling safe behavior for our students.

Baker Families, Baker will have an early dismissal tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. The last student checkout will be at 11:00 a.m., and there will be no aftercare available through Right-At-School.

It is imperative that you be here by or before 11:30 to ensure your child is picked up on time, as timely dismissal allows our teachers and staff to return home to their families as scheduled.

👩‍🏫The Wilbur D. Mills University Studies High School teacher will be honored again before the Arkansas State Board of Education in January, representing not only Mills High and Pulaski County but the entire state with this prestigious award.

🏫Arkansas Division of Elementary and Secondary Education Humanities Specialist Isaac Cross and Social Studies Specialist Ronda Smith (GLI coordinator) presented the recognition before the Board.
