Shout out to our very own Isabel Molina for earning the 2024 Arkansas Seal of Biliteracy. She is the first Sylvan Hills High student to ever receive this distinction!
The Arkansas Seal of Biliteracy conveys proficiency with language skills in two or more languages for qualifying candidates. This credential offers a competitive advantage by helping bilingual individuals earn scholarships, higher pay, advanced placement and so much more. Congratulations!

Big shout out Josiah Rainey for shattering the school record in the 100 meter dash last week! Josiah ran a smoking 10.38, which is a current Top 50 time in the nation!! The school record was previously held by US Olympian Jeff Henderson. That's a pretty impressive record to break! Way to go, Josiah!
(note: pictures are from a track meet earlier this season)

Students in Mr. Johnson's Chemistry-Integrated class conducted a reactions lab recently. For this lab they visualized each of the five Chemical Reaction types that were observed. Those five types include: Synthesis, Decomposition, Combustion, Single Replacement, & Double Replacement. They also described any evidence of a chemical reaction, whether it was color change, temperature change, evolution of a gas, formation of a solid, etc. Learning in action!
